Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service is a student-run ambulance
service, serving Georgetown University and the surrounding community. Founded in
1982, GERMS has been providing free year-round, 24/7 emergency medical service
(rapid-response, treatment, and transport) to the Georgetown community.
If this is a medical emergency, dial 202-687-4357 immediately.
You should call GERMS whenever you believe someone would benefit from the
medical skills and equipment that EMTs and an ambulance can provide. Our
EMTs all hold DC and national certifications in basic life support. GERMS can
handle any type of medical emergency, including chest pain, seizures, motor
vehicle accidents, severe bleeding, and head trauma. When in doubt, call!
